Day 30 - Rome

Free breakfast, oh how I love to stay in a hotel. Quick call home to mum and we were on our way. We taxied and met the rest of the group outside the Colosseum. We booked a guided tour outside, so that we could skip the long queue to get into the Colosseum for €25 otherwise it's just €12 to go in.
I know the colosseum from the Gladiator movie. Seeing it in real life is just unbelievable, it is so much bigger than you could have imagined and he fact that it is still standing after 2000 years is amazing. How they would have had the tools to build such a big stadium so long ago is just mind-blowing.

There are so many kiosk's around the place all selling frozen water which is essential to get you through the day, as it's just so hot here and there is no wind to cool you down!

We come across some amazing ruins, this city has so much history to it, a lot like Paris.

We walked around the city - Ben got told off for having his shirt off numerous times by police and security.

We have noticed it always looks like the Italians are arguing with each other, but it's just because they are so passionate about the way they speak.

Ben and I went out for dinner, next door to our hotel, recommended by the receptionist. We got a cabornara I share and a drink - both delicious and the service was really good too!

Day 30 on our trip - wow the time has just flown by, and we have seen so much! I now know what people mean when people say traveling broadens your mind. Another 3.5 months of beach and sun - which I am looking forward too :)
