Day 16 - Poland

Cracow Hotel:
Quite noisy last night outside our hostel so at times it was hard to get to sleep, other than that I have been thoroughly impressed with the hostel, we did some washing and went out for a bit and came back and the receptionist had hung our washing out - that is top service!

Before we came traveling, Ben booked an Auschwitz tour online which takes you to and through the concentration camps. So the driver picked us up from our hostel and drove 1hr away to the camp (easy and only €27 / $104 polan). We got a guided tour through the Auschwitz camp which was such an eye opener for all of us - the level of torture the prisoners went through would mean they only survive 2 months max in the 'prison'. We had a break and then got taken to Birkenau camp and looked through what was left of the gas chambers, memorial plaques, and the prisoners standard of living. This experience was amazing - you study about it at high school by you never imagine you would actually get to see it. I have a more deeper understanding now of what the prisoners had to go through. This place was truly hell on earth!
I would recommend booking a tour before you arrive but it's also quite easy to sort here too. You just get put into tours with the language you speak.

We had a few drinks at our hostel to save money and then hit the clubs. We went to a cool bar called 'Frantic' and another called 'Coco', both which are hip hop clubs. Both big clubs and the atmosphere is pumping.
