Day 47 - Cappadocia to Istanbul

Skyped mum and family back home which was a great way to start the day! We checked out of our hotel at 11:30. The guys at the hotel were lovely and very helpful. We had the best stay at 'Guven Cave Hotel' that I have already recommended the hotel to a friend who is looking to come and stay in Cappadocia.

We enjoy a coffee and a frappe at a cafe called 'Coffeedocia' and chilled out until our 2pm bus to Ankara. We are using the same bus company again 'Suha' as we were so impressed with them last time to get us to Cappadocia.

We found a homeless puppy which was absolutely gorgeous that both Ben and I were smitten with, it was so hard to leave it once the bus arrived :(

It was a 6 hour journey to Ankara, we got to see the salt lakes which was cool!

We arrived at 8pm at the Anarka bus station and were amazed at how big it was. So we found it easy enough to buy a ticket (€20) to Istanbul for midnight - which is perfect timing because we will arrive at 6am and kill some time before we check into our hotel. When we don't have to pay a nights accommodation it's a win-win.
