We caught a ferry to a new island called 'Gili T' it was suppose to take 1.5hrs instead it took 2.5hrs. The key is to sit outside on the ferry so you don't have to smell the petrol fumes inside.
After 1ish we arrived on the island and walked down the one and only main street and found a bungalow for $15 which we thought was a great deal!
There is a turtle aquarium opposite our bungalows which grow the turtles until they are 1 year old and then releases them into the ocean. The main beach is where the turtles use to lay their eggs, but now they just won't be protected by all the people taking over the beach so the locals are looking after them.
We walked around the place getting a feel for the area and it's safe to say this place is a party island! There are blackboards with writing about 'magic mushrooms' for sale and you can smell weed everywhere. There are no cops on this island so you can do whatever you like really.
We went to some night markets which can appear to look dodgy and unhygienic, but the place was busy and we talked to an Australian who had been coming to these markets for years and said how good they were, so we tried our luck with some food. We got nasi goreng $1.5, 3 king prawns $2, 20 small chicken skewers for $2, and a banana chocolate cake which looked like a pancake for $1.50. Watching them cook the food - you feel as though you can trust it. The food was tasty and so cheap so we are keen to hit this place for dinner for the next few nights.
One of Bens friends Sailen is having a stag do here in Bali with 20 of the boys, so we caught up with them, had a few beers and hit this club 'Ruby'. It played pretty good dance music and the place was packed. Apparently it's the place to go on a Friday night. It was cool having a big group of us dancing, drinking and catching up.
Katie's birthday kicked off at midnight so she enjoyed some Zambuca shots (gross) and we partied long into the night.....
