Departing the Bali airport was a bit of drama as we had to pay $15 departure tax and there were no ATMs inside the airport - which meant we spent a lot of time going in and out of security. Also when we went through customs we needed to fill in a 'departure form', which the customs guy told us to lean in and he whispered that we had to pay $26 and he wrote the number $26 down. We are not that gullible so we knew it was a scam, we kicked up a fuss and he they gave us the departure card to fill in....... Finally
We flew with Air Asia which took 3 hours, the plane had a bit of turbulence as the weather was quite rainy / windy today. The airplane was fine, just a no frills airline.
We arrived in Kuala Lumpur and taxied to China Town where we are staying in a hostel called 'Reggae Guess House'.
The receptionist was so helpful and accommodating which was what we needed after a long day.
The night markets are next to our hostel so we walked around the markets. Ben brought a designer money clip.
We had dinner in a food court within the markets. We enjoyed a fresh watermelon juice, wonton noodle soup and Thai Garlic chicken with rice all for $5. We walked around and got some pork buns for $1.50 each - which were so delicious! We have missed Asian food.
