Over an hours drive to the Vietcong War Tunnels, so it was a long morning, but all worth it once we arrived there.
Going through the tunnels and seeing how the Vietnamese came up with booby traps to kill the Americans was fascinating! We got to go through one of the tunnels and had to leave half way through as the space got smaller and it got a lot hotter. We watched a propaganda film from the Vietnamese side of how they saw the war which we found to be interesting. The remains of where the bombs had landed in the forrest is still there today. We got to shoot an AK47 for $1.50 per bullet which both Ben and I did - it was quite a thrill!
We got dropped at the war museum and saw American helicopters and tanks. We saw photographic effects the war had on the Vietnamese army, civilians and their land which was absolutely devastating. Agent Orange which was sprayed over the forrest had lasting effects on the country and deformed a lot of the civilians.
After a long emotional day we had dinner and Ben got his teeth whitened for $60 at the same dentist we got our teeth cleaned at. It took just over an hour and his teeth look a lot whiter. He said it was painful and expects them to look whiter, but I think they look great.
