We caught a long 10hour bus to Ho Chi Minh City. The Cambodian King's Father had died a few days ago so there is expected to be 100,000 people coming into Phnom Penh today and the next few days which makes it the perfect time for us to leave.
We arrived in the backpackers / an hotels
street called 'Bui Vien St' where we find a cheap hotel for the night at only $6 each. The hotel is called 'Quoc Toan' and the family here are just lovely. The mother showed Katie and I how we must wear our handbags - as people on scooters dive past and snatch them off you.
This city is absolute mayhem. There are so many people everywhere all wizzing around on scooters. The footpaths are packed with signage that you are forced to walk on the road.
We were keen for some good food, so we walked across the road to a restaurant called 'Vietnamese Kitchen'. The meal was delicious - we had chicken curry and lemongrass chicken.
We walked around the shops and got a jist of what the place is like. So far so good - we are loving the energy and buzz about the place and the shopping looks amazing!
