Day 83 - Malaysia to Cambodia

We left the hotel as soon as we could, which meant we were 4 hours early for our Air Asia flight to Phnom Penh. But that's okay because I got to see Kelly who was flying home from Phuket to Melbourne. It was a great catch up session with her, Ben and I.

Once we got to Cambodia Airport, we paid $20 each and gave them a passport photo. This is for our 'tourist visa' which lasts 30 days.

We got a taxi to our hostel called 'Me Mates Place' which is central, and is run by a Cambodian who grew up in Australia. As soon as we turned up we saw a monkey outside trying to get in the window. They were dangling on the power lines.

We walked around and got a tuk-tuk to the waterfront restaurants, which is the
main eating spot. We walked a few streets back and got some street food which was a weird tasting pork bun and beef noodles which were yummy.

We went back to the waterfront for some cheap cocktails ($2) and cheap beers ($.50). And then we went back to our hostel for a game a pool and watching some football.

This place is definitely the poorest, slum like place we have been so far. It's exciting to be out out of our comfort zone.
