Day 109 - Thailand

Feeling a bit hazy this morning we head out for some pad Thai, where we run into our friends Dave and Kim who are spending their last night in Bangkok before they fly back to Auckland tomorrow.

It's a scorcher of a day which doesn't mix well with our hangover. We feel shattered! We walk around the markets and find the prices of clothes to be more expensive than in Vietnam and Cambodia. The food is the same price if not cheaper and more tastier!

We had a few beers and some more food with Dave and Kim and exchange travel stories. We leave for the airport at 4:30pm, we arrive nice and early for and our flight to Phuket. The Bangkok domestic airport is surprisingly really nice and filled with lots of spots to eat good, cheap food.

We fly out at 7:30pm on a packed Air Asia plane and arrive in Phuket at 9pm. After a mission of trying to find a shuttle to Phuket town, we have to catch a taxi which we get for $16.

We arrive at 'Ananas Hostel' which is quite expensive at $14 a night, but it's actually a really nice hostel with big dorm rooms, with only 4 beds per dorm and comfy beds. A nice Thai couple own the hostel and said they will drop us at the bus station the next morning for $4 each. The prices of taxis are way more expensive in Phuket, which is hard to get use to.
